The CCM Jetspeed FT6 Pro skate is the latest addition to the Jetspeed family, designed to maximize acceleration and give players the perfect balance of lateral stiffness and forward flex.
The FT4 Pro was an extremely popular skate amongst NHLers, rising superstars, and beer league heroes -- so the FT6 Pro should be no different. Here's a look an in-depth, written review of the skate and a look at some of the most prominent new features.
A one-piece boot in three distinct fits
While it's not a new feature, the Jetspeed FT6 Pro skate features CCM's patented one-piece boot. Once it's heat molded, it offers a comfortable, precise fit tailored to each player's foot. The improved fit results in faster strides, better energy transfer, and a more connected feeling to the skate and the ice.
On top of this, the Jetspeed FT6 Pro skate comes in three distinct fits -- tapered, regular, and wide. This allows players to choose a skate family strictly based on the benefits and still achieve their perfect fit -- no matter their foot shape.
A brand new boot
The FT6 Pro skate may look similar to it's alma matter, but don't be fooled. It's packing a ton of new features that left the team at Larry's Sports Store impressed.
First off, CCM is boasting the new one-piece boot speed, which is built for performance and acceleration. It features a "game-ready fit" in the heel and NHL-caliber composite materials in the boot, providing an excellent connection between your foot and the skate.
Other standout features are the powerflex tendon guard, which was first introduced in the Ribcore and Tacks lines. It's a flexible tendon guard that allows for an increased range of motion and a more extension when a player is skating. It also has a carbon insert for added protection.
Levelling up comfort
Another impressive new feature is CCM's ADPT comfort tongue. It's lightweight, anatomically designed, and incredibly comfortable. Right out of the box, it wraps around a player's foot and we're confident that it'll provide exceptional comfort and protection after heat molding.
As a side note, this tongue is so impressive that we've already had players asking to order it separately so they can add it to their existing CCM skates.
But the comfort doesn't stop there. The CCM FT6 Pro skate also includes ADPT memory foam in the ankle padding and footbed. The memory foam in the ankle padding creates a fantastic wrap around the player's foot after heat molding, ensuring both a locked in and comfortable fit.
There's also ADPT comfort foam in the footbed, adding to the overall comfort of the skate and providing additional grip in the heel, to enhance stability on the ice.
New holder, same great features
The CCM Jetspeed FT6 Pro also includes an improved holder. CCM's popular quick release holder and bladelock system has been upgraded with a slightly larger dial, making it easier to change steel before, during, and after ice times.
